I completed my new backcountry hot tent just in time for the weekend.  It was a tough and stressful week, but I made it and I was super excited! I had created a new hot tent recently to use in the backcountry as my DIY Tipi was just too heavy.  Before I took it out into the backcountry though, I wanted to test it out somewhere safe, so as with past trials, I decided to [...]

It was a great day to head to Algonquin Park for the Winter in the Wild Festival. I was pretty excited to be a demo this year with my hot tent and also get to see all the other great ways people camp in the winter! There are so many ways you can do it. This year, my plan was to capture a few of each type and post about them. (see green link partway [...]

I met some extraordinary people who I've spent time with over the past year and enjoyed camping in the snow more than I thought I would. This year, I was incredibly honored to be invited to my friend Stevie's wedding, happening on New Years Eve [...]

It has been far too long since I camped and I was dying to go!!!  A few events, some sickness, a visit from mom, and some bad weather had kept me from doing what I love most and this weekend was turning out to be the same. I wanted to cry! Originally, the weekend plan was to do a canoe trip on Rain Lake at Access #4 on the west side of Algonquin Park.  But, [...]
