It was a rare thing for me to have free time these days, but last Sunday, I had the whole day to myself. I had honestly assumed I would be hungover as Saturday was Grape & Wine in Niagara, a festival many locals and tourists participate in revolving around drinking wine. I ended up waking up at 715am, and felt great so I got up and decided it was a good day to go adventuring, [...]

Every year for four years now, I pick a weekend to spend at Mew Lake in Algonquin Park. This year was no different, what was different though, were the people I was going with. We headed out at 5am and had a wonderful, traffic-free journey. [...]

Ragged Falls Provincial Park is it's own separate provincial park, however, if you have a day pass for any provincial park, it can be used for all of them.  Therefore, we didn't have to pay the parking fee to spend some time there, which is [...]

Every year I take my mom to the Parkway Cottages & Resort in Dwight, Ontario.  I went there in 2001 after my very first backcountry trip in Algonquin Park. Five days of roughing it, followed by 5 days of cottaging.  It was a great trip and since then I have been going back occasionally. One year, I decided to take my mom for her birthday and she has wanted to go there every year since. [...]
