It was an epic weekend. One I will never forget and one I will cherish. It started off with a vision of one person and grew with the passion of others. It displayed our love of the canoe and the honor we all feel to be Canadians, living in this great country. This weeks post will be two videos of the event. Day one, featuring the opening ceremonies, some interviews with a few of the canoe companies and the canoe olympics. Day Two will be featuring the main event, 150 Canoes on Canoe Lake, the singing of our anthem and a few of the speeches before we paddled out. I hope you enjoy the video.
Thank you to everyone who attended the event, donated prizes, helped in any way and smiled and sang through the rainy weather. It goes to show you how strong our Canadian spirit truly is and what it means to be a Canadian, even if you are American, which some of our attendees were.

Stay tuned for my next post, it’s going to be another epic weekend!!!

Enjoyed your blog! Although we were there and drenched rats, we have lost our Canada150 flags. My husband has lost them…says they were all crumpled. Do you know of anywhere where we could get a couple more?
Thank you so much. It was a great day. Possibly try contacting Matt Olsen from Paddle In? I think he might have some? Or David Lee from The Passionate Paddler may know where to get them. He organized the event. Cheers!
